Pasta Sheets

The pasta sheet is the starting point of any form. It is where the pattern is born and intention becomes visible. With each pass through the machine, the design gradually reveals itself, a moment when idea and matter finally meet.

A fully open sheet has a presence of its own, distinct from the forms that derive from it. Here, the pattern is seen in its entirety, rhythm, balance, and continuity. It is a continuous surface, almost textile. This I call the mother sheet.
